The 4th annual Storybook 5K and Fun Run, hosted by the Junior Board of the Vestavia Hills Library Foundation, will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2019. The chip timed 5K, organized by The Trak Shak, will begin at 8:00 am with the chip timed 2 Mile following at 8:10 am and the 1 Mile Fun Run at 9:00 am. The race course will begin and end at Vestavia Hills City Hall. A sleep-in option is also available. The Storybook 5K and Fun Run is a fundraiser for the Children's Department of the Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest. New this year is the Run, Walk, or Wag option. For an additional $5, you can have your four-legged friend run or walk with you. Participating dogs must be leashed at all times.
This all ages event will be fun for the entire family as well as all members of our community and the greater Birmingham area. Children are encouraged to dress up as their favorite storybook character. There will be post-race food, refreshments, and fun family entertainment, including: music from the Birmingham Wind Ensemble, a performance from the Vestavia Hills Elementary East Choir, bounce houses, carnival games, balloon animals, face painting, and appearances by storybook characters and performers from Birmingham Ballet.
